"Chris", Don, and Johnny Ray have many years of professional playing experience between them, and have worked in just about every type of genre and venue possible during their careers.

They have been friends and partners since their early days playing together at high school dances, frat parties, and canteens. Although their profession has led them into playing many different kinds of music, their passion and first love has always been ‘classic’ Rhythm and Blues. Specifically, R&B from the end of the forties to the late fifties, when blues had ‘swing’ and ‘bop’ to it.

Great songs from an era when the blues was adopting the attitudes and rhythms that would eventually become Rock and Roll. They have augmented this R&B stew with a dash of New Orleans spice and the occasional touch of vintage Rock and Roll.

LUCILLE’S NIGHT OUT have picked songs by great singers, instrumentalists and performers like Percy Mayfield, Lloyd Price, Don Covay, Joe Liggins, Guitar Slim, Jimmy Reed, Jesse Belvin, John Lee Hooker, Louis Prima, and Don and Dewey.

DON WITTSTEN did stints with both John Lee Hooker, and Jimmy Reed in his formative years.

JOHN "CHRIS" CHRISTENSEN has performed in the bands of the Drifters, Hollywood Flames, and Chuck "Tequila" Rio.

JOHNNY RAY SCOTT has been performing in the Southland with his own group for many years.

"We’ve looked hard to find songs to perform that have a little more going for them than ‘traditional’ blues. That music is great too, but we wanted to do something a little more interesting and a little more derivative. There are already a ton of guys representing that ‘Chicago’ style. We’ve always preferred R&B with either the New Orleans or Big Band ‘feel’. Give us a good, bad, & dirty guitar with swingin’ vocals and we’re there! That kind of music attracts us like a magnet!"
